Vishwaguru Mahamandaleshwar Paramhans Sri Swami Maheshwaranandji
His Holiness Vishwaguru Mahamandaleshwar Paramhans Sri Swami Maheshwarananda Puri of Panchayati Maha Nirvani Akhara, respectfully known as Vishwaguruji, is the disciple and successor of Hindu Dharmsamrat Paramhans Sri Swami Madhavananda.
Vishwaguruji is a part of one of the oldest spiritual lineages in India, OM Sri Alakhpuriji Siddha Peeth Parampara, holly incarnations and God-realized masters - starting with Param Mahasiddha Avatar Sri Alakhpuriji, to Paramyogeshwar Svayambhu Sri Devpuriji, Bhagvan Sri Deep Narayan Mahaprabhuji and Hindu Dharmsamrat Paramhans Sri Swami Madhavanandaji.
My mission is to help people understand themselves, understand others, to love and protect all living beings, and ultimately to realize God.
Vishwaguruji was born on August 15, 1945, in the village of Rupawas, in the district of Pali, Rajasthan. His parents, Pandit Krishna Ramji Garg and Srimati Phool Devi Garg, both devout and religious people, gave him the name of Mangilal. As a young child, most of his free time he devoted to prayer and meditation. Whilst still in his teens, he was ordained as swami by his Guru, Hindu Dharmsamrat Paramhans Sri Swami Madhavanandaji, with whom he lives in ashram for several years, performing strict anusthana, spiritual practices.
Since 1971 he has been living and working in Europe. Through his longlasting activities in the West, Vishwaguruji has become familiar with the way of life and the many problems people face in the modern world, with psycho-somatic consequences of a detrimental lifestyle, stress, fears and mental illness. He has developed a comprehensive master system called
Yoga in Daily Life, based on original yoga tradition and specially directed to the situation and needs of modern civilization. The system can be lived and practiced regardless of age, social status, nationality or denomination.
On 10th April, 1998, Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda was inaugurated by the World Religious Parliament as Sarvabhaum Sanatan Dharma Jagadguru.
At the Maha Kumbha Mela in Haridwar, India on 13 April 1998 he was appointed as Mahamandaleshwar of Maha Nirvani Akhara.
In 2001 on the occasion of the Maha Kumbha Mela in Prayagraj (Allahabad), Swamiji was awarded with the highest spiritual title of Vishwaguru (Master of the Universe) in the presence of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shankaracharya Sri Swami Narendranandaji Sarasvati, by the Vidvat Samaj.
Vishwaguruji's selfless service, his tireless care and love for all living beings, his lectures and satsangs, are a source of inspiration for thousands of people around the globe, who are striving for spiritual realization. His books are published in 11 languages and thousands of non-profit centres of
Yoga in Daily Life are present in all five continents.
Teachings
The main points of Vishwaguruji's teachings are physical, mental, social and spiritual health; respect for life; tolerance for all religions, cultures and nationalities; world peace; protection of human rights and values; protection of the environment and preservation of nature; selfless service, and care and love for all living things. According to his teachings, the realisation of these fundamental principles of life will lead man to spiritual development, self-realization, and realisation of God.
Yoga is not a part of any religion, but all religions are part of Yoga, because Yoga is universal. Yoga is a religion in terms of relation between individual and cosmic Self, that is God. It is not a religion in terms of today's understanding of the word religion. Yoga is a Universal principle which balances entire Universe, the space and the consciousness.
There is only one religion, humanity. One should not change religion, but become a better Christian, a better Muslim.... a better human according to their religion.
Helping hands are worth more than praying hands. We can help the world peace by limiting our needs, reduce the use of plastics, become vegetarians and avoid drugs, especially alcohol, which can be considered as a devil in the form of liquid.
Peace begins within one's own heart and charity within one's own home.
In the last 50 years Swamiji has travelled extensively throughout the world, tirelessly spreading the message of Sat Sanatan Dharma and Yoga according to the teachings of Bhagwan Sri Deep Narayan Mahaprabhuji. Wherever he goes he teaches people to understand and love themselves and others, and helps them to realise the sense and purpose of their life. His message is: understanding, respect and tolerance between nations, cultures and religions, non-violence, protection of nature and the environment and a vegetarian lifestyle.
In 1995 Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda laid the foundation stone of OM Ashram, i.e. OM Vishwa Deep Gurukul Swami Maheshwarananda Education and Research Center. The center is located on 1 km2 area in the Jadan district of Rajasthan, India in the form of ancient symbol OM. It is the largest man-made symbol of OM in the world.
In recognition of his humanitarian and spiritual merits, Vishwaguruji has received much thanks, many awards and numerous honoring titles from all over the world.
Swamiji visited Hungary for the first time in 1978, and since then those who are interested in yoga can meet him every year at practice programs and lectures.
